DWAYNE BUTH
Mavericks Head Coach
Coach Dwayne Buth graduated from Mount Miguel High School, where he was a California State Champion. He went to California State University – Fullerton, where he was a two-time All Pac-10 wrestler and a two-time National Qualifier.
Before coming to La Costa Canyon in 1996, Coach Buth coached at Troy High School in Orange County.

TIM RANDALL
Assistant Coach
Two-time San Diego Masters Champion and an All-American at Palomar College placing 2nd in the Juco State Championships. He is a tremendous clinician and has a wealth of knowledge. He also leaads the Mavericks Mat Rat program.
MIKE RAMIREZ
Varsity Assistant Coach
Mike is a huge asset to the wrestling program and also assists at Diegueno and Oak Crest Middle Schools.
DANIEL RAMIEREZ
Assistant Coach
Daniel is a CA state placer and multiple time All-American in Freestyle. He wrestled at Cal State Fullerton and coached at Troy HS with Coach Buth for 3 years. He is a volunteer coach that brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.
TONY PEREZ
JV/Freshman Coach
Tony is a 2001 Alumni from LCC and was a State Qualifier. He wrestled at Palomar JC and went on to earn his Bachelors degree. He was also a Ranger in the military.
SCOTT HANSEN
Assistant Coach/Trainer
Two-time State place winner in high school (4th, 2nd), wrestler on the National Team for Team Maine 2x. He was a two year starter at D2 American International College as well as an assistant coach at Milton HS and First Colonial HS. Scott was a head coach at Malden Catholic HS in Massachusetts. His physical fitness knowledge makes him a welcome addition to the program.
